Dr. Allen
Dr. Allen was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and he also lived in Bois D’Arc, Texas but later moved to Oklahoma, Maryland and Florida. He graduated from University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and then later graduated from Barry University of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. He completed a two year surgical residency at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, Louisiana before moving back to his home state. In August of 2001, Dr. Allen opened his private practice in Athens, Texas. For 23 years, he has been treating patients from many surrounding areas including Henderson, Anderson, Van Zandt, Navarro, Freestone and Smith Counties.
Dr. Allen has been married to his wife, Tammi, for 26 years. They have two kids, Reed, 21 and Danielle, 19. They are both students at Texas A&M University. Dr. Allen is an avid hunter. He enjoys deer hunting in Kansas and bird hunting in West Texas. He had the opportunity to bow hunt in Manitoba, Canada last summer and killed a Pope & Young record black bear. So, keep in mind, getting an appointment during hunting season may be more difficult, ha!
Dr. Allen cares about the well-being of his patients and says “the best part of podiatry is having a patient come in with pain and leave pain-free!”
